Heavy Nasty Snow

The snow and age broke the cabling on my snow blower. My dad picked it up today to haul it to the shop tomorrow. He has a truck. The good thing was it waited until I was 95% done with the snow.

Michael's teacher had written that he seemed very antsy this week. I wrote back that's he been bouncing off the walls with excitement about being picked to chose a treat. He picked "fine dining". From his explanation, you and a friend get to sit at a special table for lunch - it has a tablecloth, and you get your milk in a glass. He was extremely happy to be the "winner". He also mentioned that he hopes sometime someone will choose him to the the friend for "fine dining". (I hope so too.) Between that and his ear infection he's been very restless.

He's also going through another moody phase. He'll be pretty much Mr Sunshine for a couple months and then he has a phase of what I call moodiness. He gets upset or something sets him off very easily and he'll go pout or storm off. It's usually then I hear is he moving out. I tell him I'll miss him. He often goes to his room or another room to cool down. Generally he'll come join me after a spell in a better mood. One of the child development books said it was normal for this age. At least these days he can verbalize more when he is frustrated/angry.

I miss having the neighborhood I grew up in for him - not the location, but the amount of kids to play with. They seem to be few and far between. I keep hoping we'll have some more kids move in his age to play with.
