Menards - one of the most dangerous places on the planet

Ok, we went in for solar rope lights that were on sale, right? Well I decided to peek at tarps. I had borrowed my dad's since mine are all over wood in my back yard. I figured they would be on the camping aisle. Nope. But they were having a sale on camping stuff. So over $100 later, we left with tarps, stakes, a light, blow up mattress ( I can not handle the little pads on the ground), hot dog sticks with wood handles, a life jacket for Michael, peanuts for my dad, some trail mix that we like and the solar rope lights I went in for. Yikes, it's worse than Target for me.

I met a friend after to see the new Star Trek film. I thought it was pretty good, better than I expected to be honest. I hadn't seen a film in the the theatre since "New in Town" back in Feb. I had day care on President's Day even though I was off, so I went to a movie. Before that was pre-Michael.

After Michael went to bed I decided to book another camping trip. Since I had boughten all those camping goodies I need to use them, right? I went to the reservations site armed with 3 possible weekends and a map that listed mileage from the Twin Cities. I wanted something within an hour to hour and a half max. I ended up with 2 reservations in Aug, since the weekend in July was too close and all booked up.

We will go to William O'Brien before my sister arrives and Frontenac later in the month. I actually think I stayed there (Frontenac) in the 90's with a friend who was crazy about Laura Ingalls Wilder. I got dragged to some weather-beaten old building on the other side of the river, that Laura lived in or taught at - something like that.

With 6 days in the parks, we will be above the daily sticker rate. So anything after day 5 is gravy.

Hopefully, the weather will be nice.
